How Two-Way Value is Calculated

The two-way value is a metric that is composed of both the PRF Offensive Value over Role, DRF Defensive Value over Role. The issue with directly adding them relies in the assists component. PRF encapsualates all points that is player generating, so assists inflate the PRF range, while DRF shows how many points a player is saving. They live on different scales so in order to add them together, the Z-Score of both stats is calculated, and then combined to create the two-way value. The two-way value shows the total z scores away from the average player in their role.
